Reception Hours : 10:00AM – 3:00PM.
Check-in & Check-out : Check-in: After 2:00PM; Check-out: Before 11:00AM. Departing guest(s) must remove all their belongings from their room, and return keys to reception by 11:00AM. Late checkout is not available. Failure checkout by time and/or return keys, additional fee will be charged.
Age Restriction : Guest(s) must be at least 16 years old to stay at our hostel.
Hostelling : A valid Passport or NZ ID, and your contact details are required when check in. Failure to provide valid documents or booked gender-incompatible room(s) will be refused checking in.
Room and Bed Allocation : When booking share bed(s) in dorm room for you and/or your friends, you will be allocated to the room type that you booked, but we have no guarantee that you will be allocated the same room or specific bed(s). Changing bed(s) and/or room(s) without permit may result in paying the unused bed or checkout immediately with no refund.
Visitors : No visitor allowed if you don’t get permit from reception.
No alcohol! No smoking! : Smoking and all types of alcohol/alcohol beverages are banned in this building and its grounds. Guest(s) cannot drink, possess and bring alcohol into hostel. Failure may cause $250 fine and the items will be removed without notice. We accept no liability for loss and damage in violation.
Damage to Hostel’s Property : Person(s) who damaged the property due to inappropriate behavior during their stay will have to reimburse Newton Lodge. We will charge the cost of the repairs.
Do Not Hang Wet Clothes : Do not hang wet clothes indoors (including bathrooms, toilets, and etc.) and spread wet clothes out. Please use the dryer in Laundry Room to dry clothes. Otherwise all will be removed immediately without notice. We accept no liability for loss and damage in violation.
Guest(s) Responsibilities : We have rules to ensure all people a better living environment.
(1) No foods and beverage inside bedrooms, bathroom and toilets.
(2) Open flame in all purpose banned.
(3)Cover or remove smelly belongings.
(4) Tidy up luggage and keep under beds. Do not litter personal belongings and block the walkway.
(5) Clean up and restore used facilities & items.
(6) Be respectful and leave clean and tidy spaces for others, Do not block facilities if you are not using.
Personal Property : Lockers are provided in dorm rooms. It is your responsibility to ensure personal property is secure at all times. We accept no liability for the loss, theft or damage to guests’ property.
Volume Down : Please lower volume in the corridors/hallway at all times. Also please DO NOT take phone call and use sound device after 10:00PM in corridors/hallway and dorm rooms.
Cancellation and No-Show policies : OTA bookings have their own specific policies, and guest can cancel or change within the policies where you booked. Extension of stay will keep the same policies. If there is no cancellation policies mentioned, reservations can be canceled free of charge 7 days before check-in, or canceled within 7 days and no-show at 100% charge.
Payment : We reserves the right to pre-authorize full amount of reservations from the payment card prior to arrival. We reserve the right to cancel confirmed reservations that are without valid payment.
Guest Behaviors : Guests are expected to respect other guests, staffs, hostel residents and property. Any guest who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises.
Things are Prohibited : Drugs, weapons, gambling, drunken, and noisy, theft, disorderly or abusive behavior or physical violence.
In case of violation of any rules of the hostel, we reserve the right to check out the guest immediately without a refund. Should there be any resistance to any member being requested to leave the hostel, the police will be contacted.
