Job type: Permanent full-time position
Wage: $29.96 per hour.
Hours of work: Minimum 42 hours/week
Shift duration: Between 10am and 5pm; 6 days/week; Work in the weekend required.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Manager to support our hostel’s daily operations and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests.

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in the overall management of the hostel. You will assist the Hostel Manager with administrative tasks, staff supervision, guest services, and operational management. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assistant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, refund and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Manage reservations, check-ins, and check-outs.
  • Assisting the Hostel Manager in daily operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service.
  • Supervising and housekeeping and maintenance staff supports smooth operations.
  • Correctly listing the hostel online and with third-party agencies.
  • Planning and prepare work schedules and assign staff to specific duties
  • Guiding staff on handling challenging and complex customer service procedures
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies.
  • Assist with financial tasks, including daily transaction reconciliation and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to address repair and upkeep needs.
  • conducting interviews, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing, and promoting staff, as well as resolving staff grievances
  • Participate in staff training and development.

Requirements:

  • One year of work experience in the hostel industry supervisor position. More than one year of work experience is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
  • Proficiency in using a variety of online travel agencies platforms (e.g. Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, etc.), Property Management System and it’s related add-ons.
  • Bilingual skill is preferred.
